Urethane Gaskets

Urethane Gaskets – Made using polyurethane or urethane compounds, these gaskets are pressure sensitive and comes with adhesive backing. Urethane Gasket material is a Polyethylene-apdate, Polyether material that has good aging and excellent abrasion, tear, and solvent resistance.

Urethane (Polyurethane) gasket material is uniquely formulated with the elasticity of rubber paired with a very tough and durable performance factor. Urethane has the capability to "self-heal" due to its excellent cut and abrasion resistance. It performs exceptionally well with resisting ozone and aging. Urethane can also be molded to a variety of substrates.

Urethane gasket material is the answer in applications where the gasket or seal needs to have the hardness of a plastic or the softness of a rubber, but must endure environments that neither plastic nor rubber could tolerate. Polyurethane's properties make it resist to abrasions, cuts, cracking, oil, grease, chemicals, high impact and heavy loads. Urethane gasket material are generally unphased by ozone and oxygen. Polyurethane is known to be the most tough and abrasian resistant of all available elastomeric materials.

Polyurethane is superior to plastic, rubber, and steel in terms of its resistance to extreme environmental factors. Polyurethane is very reliable in applications causing repeated flexure because of its tremendous resistance to cracking. Urethane gaskets are composed of unique properties that make it the best product for long-term materials for high load or high stress applications. Urethane functions best in temperatures between -20°F and 180°F.
